Standard Reducers
The standard flange connection in GUR KR compensating reducers is a freely rotatable FL design located behind the steel-cored rubber bulge. Short GUR KR compensating reducers can also be supplied with Type FR fixed flanges. GUR KR compensating reducers are also available with a divided flange at the smaller diameter end permitting change of the rubber components while continuing use of the flanges.
The inner coating layer of GUR KR compensators is 10 mm thick; the outer layer is at least 2 mm in thickness. As a result GUR KR compensators have a high abrasion reserve and provide long service lives in process environments.
While exhibiting basically the same properties as GUR KR, GUR K compensators differ in that they are constant in DN throughout. GUR K compensators are supplied as standard components with the same principal dimensions as the GUR KR series.
Rubber Grades
The grade of rubber contacting the material transported is selected in accordance with the expected types of environmental attack in the application. Environmental attack categories have been derived from typical applications in chemical plants, minerals processing facilities, flue gas scrubbing stations and steel works. The basic rubber grades developed for these application categories are shown in the table at right.
Along with these grades special grades from our extensive range of formulations are also available to solve customer-specific problems. The outer covering layer is generally made of ozone-, oil- and weather-resistant rubber. Certain types of environmental attack in an application may call for the use of specialty grades from our range of formulations.
rubber grade | suited for exposure to | maximum service temperature |
---|---|---|
NR | abrasion, light corrosion | up to 100° C |
EPDM | corrosion, acids, bases | up to 120° C |
NBR | oils, greases | up to 110° C |
